Internet of Things (IoT) devices (e.g. IP cameras, DVRs, refrigerators, etc) were to blame for the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack that knocked out most of the known Internet last week. Lifehacker has a good article and link to a tool that will tell you if devices on your network are part of the problem.

Tech Tip Tuesday – Patch Tuesday

Microsoft has changed its approach to “Patch Tuesday”. You will no longer have to download individual patches. Instead, each platform (e.g. Windows 10, Server 2012, etc) will have a single set of cumulative updates. Each months updates will get larger and larger because it will include the previous months. There are pros and cons to this approach but this will make patch remediation much easier by having a single repository.
