Tech Tip Tuesday – Back That iOS Up

There have been many reports of people bricking their devices after upgrading to iOS 10. It’s always a good idea to get a backup before making major changes to your device. This also applies to patching systems.

Tech Tip Tuesday – Windows Telnet Vulnerability

We normally don't cover “Patch Tuesday” but when a security flaw for an insecure protocol is identified, we make exceptions. It is worth noting that telnet is installed on Server 2003 but not enabled and is not installed by default on Windows Vista and beyond. Who is this patch for and why are they using a clear text protocol? (in Seinfeld voice)

Tech Tip Tuesday – Bad Microsoft Patch MS 14-045

Do you faithfully patch your Windows machine every Patch Tuesday? Did you get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) after installing MS 14-045? Microsoft has published an official workaround but Naked Security from Sophos has good write up and simplified workaround.
