Tech Tip Thursday - Building a vSphere 6.5 Home Lab

Yesterday, during our conversation on Bytemarks Café, the high cost of equipment was mentioned as a barrier to entry in cybersecurity. Here’s one possible solution. Depending on how you configure it, it’s going to run about $1,000, which is comparable to a Macbook or a fancy gaming computer. Contact us if you’re interested in going this route.

Tech Tip Tuesday – VMware ESXi 6 Installation Guide

We are in the process of designing a “standard build” for a Cyber Hui Range (lab), which can serve as a local training environment. We haven’t figured out the hardware specifications yet but it will most likely run VMware Hypervisor. Take a look at this installation guide and give ESXi a try and let us know if you have any ideas for the lab.

There has been some recent buzz about creating a lab environment and Proxmox is the Rodney Dangerfield of virtualization management (it gets no respect). Proxmox VE is a complete open source virtualization management solution for servers. Do you use Proxmox?
